Metricon has been revealed as Australia’s number one residential home builder for the third year in a row with the release of the HIA COLORBOND® Steel Housing Top 100 Report.
The report, which ranks Australia’s top 100 home builders based on the number of new builds commenced each year, saw Metricon top the list with a total of 4,764 starts across Victoria, Queensland, NSW and South Australia.
“We are delighted to be ranked number one for the third consecutive year,” Metricon Director Peter Langfelder said. “It’s a testament to our national team, our passion for what we do, and the Australian families we do it for.”
Figures from the report, released last week, also showed 2017-18 was one of the strongest years on record with a whopping 222,000 new homes under construction, and Metricon was one of the biggest movers on the list, increasing its builds by an additional 397 commencements in the 2017/18 financial year. It was also the strongest year for detached house builders in the last 18 years.
