Metricon named Australia’s number one home builder 5 years in a row

Metricon

Each year, the Housing Industry Association (HIA) releases a report ranking Australia’s top 100 residential builders based on the number of home builds commenced each year.

For the fifth year in a row, Metricon is sitting at the top of the HIA COLORBOND® Steel Housing Top 100 Report - with 4,534 homes started across the four states in which we operate – Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.

It’s been a challenging year for all Australians, as we continue to deal with the impact of the coronavirus which has changed the way we live and work. More important than ever are our homes – a safe place – where we can work, study, relax and spend precious time with our families.

Metricon Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder Mario Biasin acknowledged the results saying, “Our customers have and always will be our top priority, and it is a privilege that Australian home buyers continue to trust us with the most important purchase of their lives, even during a global pandemic. It’s what drives us to continually improve design, construction and customer care.”

Mario believes it’s Metricon’s commitment to understanding the customer’s evolving needs and budgets that contributes to ongoing success. He said, “we believe the diversity of our designs and price-points means we’ve been able to maintain relevance for customers. Across our brands, we really do have a home for every Australian family.”

Throughout this challenging year, Metricon has been fortunate that residential construction has remained an essential service ensuring the thousands of hardworking Australians involved in building and construction can continue to provide for their families.

“We’re fortunate as an industry that we have been able to work with Government to ensure home building has continued in a sensible and managed way,” Mario said, “the Federal Government also heard our collective industry voice requesting stimulus and there’s no doubt that the New Home Builder Grant program is keeping the Australian dream of homeownership alive and countless individuals in work as we ride out this pandemic.”

“Although 2019/20 was a year none of us will forget in a hurry, it’s Metricon’s belief that there is still strong demand for quality home builds Australia-wide and we’re confident that our business model, coupled with our commitment to innovation and customer service, will enable our continued leadership,” Mario concluded.
