Metricon Cyber Incident

August 2025 - Update

In July 2025, Metricon was subject to a cyber incident that impacted our IT systems for a short period. We are pleased to confirm that our systems were quickly restored and are now fully operational. Throughout this period, work on site continued without interruption, and our team made strong pre-site progress on customers’ builds with minimal delay.

Alongside restoring our systems, our priority has been addressing the data impacted by an unauthorised third party as part of this incident. Our investigation has identified that a limited amount of customer information was obtained.

The impacted data is restricted to names, contact details, and contract values. We have also identified that information was obtained relating to some individuals who received a refund from Metricon, such as customers who cancelled their contract. This data includes bank account details, along with names and contact details.

Importantly, there is no indication that any customer credit card details or identity documents (such as passports or driver licences) were compromised, meaning the risk of harm associated with this data remains low.

To protect the information of our customers, trades, and staff, we have secured an injunction preventing the dissemination of any data obtained in this incident. This injunction prohibits the accessing, viewing, release, use, transmission, or publication of any impacted data by any party, including third parties.

We take cyber security extremely seriously and remain committed to keeping our stakeholders informed as we continue to respond to this matter. We have notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and are working closely with the relevant authorities.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss whether any of your information was accessed, please don't hesitate to contact us at customersupport@metricon.com.au.
