Contemporary farmhouse living on the Gold Coast – introducing the Fontaine

Metricon

The Fontaine is the latest home in Metricon’s Signature range. This impressive 60 square home is the embodiment of contemporary farmhouse living, emanating tranquillity and timeless sophistication. It’s a home that evokes relaxation, transporting its occupants to their own private, 6-star resort, with no other holidaymakers to spoil the peace!

When Metricon’s Design Team first started sketching the Fontaine, we had one goal: to create the ultimate contemporary acreage home without compromises. Whether you have a landholding in regional Australia or on the coast, the Fontaine is a timeless design that suits a myriad of generous land parcels.

The design

Adrian Popple, Metricon’s Design Director, believes we’ve created “the perfect balance of style and functionality”. The layout of the Fontaine ensures privacy for everyone. Your children or guests will have their own wing of the home, while you’ll enjoy your own spacious quarters complete with master bedroom, ensuite, walk-in robe and private retreat. There’s also a standalone guest house out by the pool, complete with its own robe and ensuite. The central living space is where you’ll come to connect – the open-plan living area opens to a massive outdoor room where you can take advantage of your serene surroundings.

The Fontaine includes several living spaces that can be customised to suit your needs – whether it’s a home office, theatre room, sitting room, craft room or whatever else you might need in your dream home. This flexibility ensures that you’ll be able to reconfigure your home based on your needs at any time.

Every room in the Fontaine features simple, elegant features, a refined colour palette and sophisticated materials and products. Adrian is sure this home “will impress anyone who visits, and if you’re lucky enough to build one for yourself, you’ll continue to find elements that excite and surprise you for as long as you live there.”

Key features

There are plenty of incredible features on display at the Fontaine. Not only do these add a feeling of sophistication to the home, but they also make it a more functional, liveable home. Some of the home’s impressive features include:

The façade

The façade of the Fontaine is complete with a Porte cochère – a large covered entrance so your transport can pull right up to the front door without the concern of inclement weather. This feature, combined with the remarkable façade, promotes a sense of grandeur on arrival.

The outdoor room

The undercover outdoor room elevates the Fontaine from incredible to one of a kind. It flows seamlessly from the living and dining area, allowing you to utilise it all year round, whether you’re throwing a party or just enjoying your tranquil surroundings.

The Fontaine on display in Tallai on the Gold Coast showcases a stunning pool and pavilion - another space to relax and enjoy warm weather. The pavilion is a must-have. The one in our Tallai showhome includes a barbeque and sumptuous lounges, but you could easily use the pavilion as an additional dining space or bar just a step away from the main home.

The standalone guest quarters

In addition to the numerous bedrooms inside, the Fontaine on display includes an additional space for guests detached from the main home. If you often have guests staying over – or you’re catering for older children or aging family members – the standalone guest house adds functionality with plenty of charm. The guest house on display at Tallai is elevated, giving it views of the pool and outdoor areas. Adrian says, “it’s a private getaway within an already private home and is a great place for anyone to go to relax. If no one else is using it, you’ll want it for yourself.”

The parents’ wing

The first thing you’ll notice inside the master bedroom is the incredible raked ceiling which creates a sense of light and space. The ceiling isn’t the only standout feature, though – the entire parents’ wing allows you to live in luxury. “The space has been designed to be warm and relaxing,” Adrian says, “it’s full of features that you’ll never be able to live without.”

The walk-in robe has room for all your clothes, no matter what the season, so you won't need to transition your clothes into storage. The ensuite is like your personal day spa, with a double vanity, large shower, and opulent freestanding bath.

There’s also a verandah outside the master bedroom where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine, and there’s a cosy parents’ retreat adjoining the master bedroom for when you need somewhere private to relax and unwind. This wing is resort-style living at its finest.

A myriad more

  • Stunning raked ceilings in the open plan living area and master suite
  • A double garage which includes a workspace for anyone who loves tinkering
  • A zone for your children, with bedrooms and a living space so they have their own privacy
  • Feature columns which add a touch of brilliance
  • Multiple break away areas so everyone has a space to call their own
  • A central living and dining area where your family can come together
  • Simple yet elegant design features

Who is the Fontaine for?

Adrian stresses that the Fontaine is for anyone who wants to enjoy tranquil farmhouse living on a generous parcel of land, including suburban blocks with extra-wide frontages. “This home has a very functional layout, and while it’s perfect for larger families, the Fontaine is designed for anyone looking for a more relaxed day-to-day life.”

Anyone can enjoy the Fontaine, from singles, to families with kids of any age, people who often entertain guests or anyone practising multigenerational living. If you have the open space of an acreage block, the Fontaine should be your first choice.
