Tile trends: Served up by Kyal and Kara from The Block

We were proud to have hosted The Block favourites and Beaumont Tiles ambassadors Kyal and Kara at our Melbourne head office for one of our very special Lookbook events. Kyal and Kara have appeared on both The Block and Reno Rumble in recent years and during the interactive session they revealed what Beaumont's strategic designers forecast is the Next Big Thing in tiles and bathroom-ware.

Those who were lucky enough to attend the event had the opportunity to learn interior styling from the very best in the industry and were introduced to six red hot trends in international design and style.

Art and shine

Described as edgy, colourful and vibrant.

Black and white

Black and white is always a timeless look that works well. Considered glamorous and moody, black and white is always perfect for bathroom floors and feature walls.

Modern vintage

This style is best described as adding character to any room in which they appear. They are epitomised by great graphics and these tiles were used to great effect at one of our Queensland display homes - the Langdon at Providence, South Ripley.

This particular look was described as natural, organic as well as being warm and inviting. The perfect style for the transition between indoors and outdoors.

The Industrial look can be achieved by using raw materials, and utilising exposed surfaces, keeping things minimalistic and being confident. For full inspiration why not check out our very own Vintage and Industrial Lookbook style.

Utilising shapes is great for adding texture and depth to a space. A great place to start with this look is our Graphix LookBook style.

The event

After being taken through these trends, everyone then got together in small groups and were given the opportunity to create their very own mood board. They were able to draw inspiration from the trends that had been presented as well as working with Kyal and Kara, along with consultants from both Beaumont Tiles and our very own Studio M.

Below is a video showcasing the night.

At the end of the night, one of the lucky attendees won an exclusive prize to tour the current Blocktagon location in South Yarra before it is open to the public ahead of the auction.
