Holiday at home with Harbourside

Metricon

Our Harbourside theme demonstrates that creating a nautical theme doesn’t mean you need to litter your home with model sailboats and porthole mirrors. We can assure you that there are other more subtle and sophisticated ways to create casual coastal chic!

Harbourside celebrates the qualities of a casual, airy, beach house. The colour scheme reflects soothing neutral sands, sun-bleached shades of blue, coral reds and pearlescent hues. It showcases how to use weathered timbers and rusted or galvanised metals combined with driftwood-inspired accessories and linen upholstery, to create a clean and sophisticated ambience.

Dining room

In our dining room above, inky blue and white pin striped fabric enhanced by bronze or chrome studs perfectly dress up these dining chairs.

The elm washed timber table compliments the relaxed and casual vibe while giving natural warmth to the dining room.

Introduce matt ceramic tableware with a hint of charcoal and muted blue to bring a classic touch to your dinning setting.

Hurricane candle lamps inspired by weathered timber pylons add to the rustic oceanic feel.

Bedroom

In the bedroom, linens, soft greys and inky blues are the perfect colour additions to white wash timber furniture with lattice or louvre features, achieving the look of a getaway retreat.

A subtle cream and white pin stripe wallpaper is the ideal backdrop for any nautical bedroom as it adds texture and gives the space a sense of classic charm.

Mix-and-match bold stripes and checks along with sea-life motifs are the perfect feature cushions for this theme. Pile up your favourite trinkets from books to vintage nautical accessories using various heights, sizes and scales to add an interesting and personalised touch.

Accessories

Restraint is key when it comes to Harbourside theme accessories. A few shells or starfish on a table look striking; baskets of them can look tacky.

Organic materials such as sea grass, jute and hemp, in the guise of rugs, furnishings and accessories, bring a natural warmth and texture to harbourside interiors.

Highlights of indigo and sapphire blue are reminiscent of that of deep ocean waters which are perfectly teamed with neutral, white accessories.
