It’s been another stellar year for Australia’s most awarded builder. The 2019 awards season saw Metricon sweep the competition and bring plenty of wins home in each state. Let’s look at some of the highlights.

Metricon tops HIA’s Housing 100 for the fourth year in a row

The HIA-Colorbond Housing Top 100 report ranks Australia’s top 100 residential builders based on the number of home builds commenced each year. Metricon has now won this award four years in a row, with a total of 4,473 starts across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.

Peter Langfelder, Metricon Director, said “We are delighted to be ranked number one for the fourth consecutive year and to have grown Metricon’s share of the national residential build market in difficult times. This is testament to our national team, our passion for what we do, and the Australian families we do it for.

“Our customers have and always will be our top priority, and it is a privilege that Australian home buyers continue to trust us with the most important purchase of their lives. It’s what drives us to continually improve design, construction and customer care,” Peter said.

At the 2019 HIA-CSR South Australian Housing Awards, Metricon was named the winner of Major Professional Builder of the Year. This award speaks to the hard work and effort that the South Australian team put into making Metricon the number one builder in the region.
Four of Metricon’s designs in South Australia took home HIA-CSR Housing Awards too.

These four awards show how much thought goes into each home that we build –from both a design and functionality point of view. We’re not just experts when it comes to building a specific style of home – we are experts at building homes in all styles, for all lifestyles. There’s something for everyone.

Metricon South Australia was also awarded the 2020 Product Review Award for being rated the top-performing brand in South Australia in the home building category, as measured by customers. While Metricon love winning all awards, the ones voted by the public are especially meaningful as it means our home designs and build quality are hitting the mark.

General Manager of Metricon South Australia, Richard Bryant said the award wins were a great acknowledgement for the entire Metricon team and their ongoing commitment to delighting customers.
“It’s been another successful year for Metricon South Australia, and we are thrilled to be recognised as the HIA Major Professional Builder of the Year and as the top-performing brand in the South Australia home building category on ProductReview.com.au, Australia’s largest consumer opinion website.

The Riviera display on the Gold Coast continues to impress

The Riviera, Queensland’s flagship Signature Home has won ‘Queensland Display Home of the Year’ in the 2019 HIA-CSR Queensland Housing Awards. The Riviera opened last year on the Gold Coast and upped the ante for volume builders. Design Director, Adrian Popple is especially proud of the home which has architects and builders in Queensland considering Metricon to be a serious rival. He said, “For me to sit down and get creative and design something completely different was really exciting. Then to see it hit the ground and know that people are loving it, that’s what makes it all worthwhile.”

It also won a 2019 Master Builder Award: ‘Best Queensland Display home over $551,000’. This home is truly stunning and is worth checking out. We’re building a second display in New South Wales next year too!

Metricon’s Lawson and Bohemian homes, on display in Ballarat and Torquay respectively, have been recognised by the Master Builders Association. The Master Builders Association of Victoria has awarded the Lawson 22Mk2 ‘Best Volume Display Home under $250,000’, and the Bohemian 29 took out ‘Best Volume Display Home $350,000 - $500,000’.

Speaking about the award-winning home designs, Simon Taylor, Regional West Manager said, “Both the Bohemian and the Lawson have a smart, single level floorplan, with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and multiple living spaces. The Bohemian boasts generous living and entertaining spaces, and with the Lawson’s numerous features including the option to add a leisure room plus outdoor room, both designs have plenty of space for the whole family.”

“What some people are surprised to learn is that Metricon’s regional teams are comprised of local staff, site managers, service and warranty and trades, which means they too are part of the community where so many people are deciding to build beautiful new homes,” Taylor explained.
