Metricon’s stunning Bordeaux show home in Brisbane was transformed into a sea of colour to celebrate the Chinese New Year Festival last Saturday, 16th February 2019.

As one of the world’s most popular festivals, Chinese New Year is widely celebrated in Australia, and the community of Rochedale came alive with this colourful event.

My Kitchen Rules 2016 champions, Tasia and Gracia Seger, were the special guests to host a cooking demonstration of popular Chinese dishes they love to create.  Since winning MKR, the sisters have developed their repertoire of traditional Asian cooking, fusing innovative dishes with unique plating, and have amassed an international following.

Tasia and Gracia said they loved celebrating Chinese New Year in Brisbane with Metricon and their VIP guests.

There a passionate crowd of MKR fans, with the girls enjoying being filmed by sea of people, sure to be shared across many social media platforms.

Tasia and Gracia displayed their lively personalities while cooking up a feast with their special MKR knife set and called volunteers to help make their delicious prawn and pork wontons. They also showed how easy it is to make sweet chilli sauce from scratch that paired beautifully with their crispy chicken ribs.

“We love cooking and it was fantastic to delight the guests with some exciting dishes being made in the beautiful Bordeaux show home kitchen.  We were very excited to show everyone a taste of what we make at home with our family during Chinese New Year,” Gracia said.

Tasia and Gracia gladly took photos with fans and even gave one excited fan one of their special Tasia and Gracia aprons.

Other delicacies on offer at the Chinese food station included roast pork belly and roast duck, soy chicken, pickled vegetables, prawn crackers and a variety of condiments and a wicked chilli sauce.
The VIP guests were left awestruck as a loud and colourful traditional Chinese Lion Dance made its way from the front door and throughout the house as a sign of good luck and fortune.

Graceful acrobats also did show stopping acts throughout the home while the children were kept entertained outside paining Chinese lanterns.
