At Metricon, part of helping you Love Where You Live is sharing our helpful tips and hints for creating a space that you love to call home. Recently, we teamed with Chris Carroll of TLC Interiors and Chelsea Thomas of I Heart Bargains to bring you some clever budget friendly tips for creating cool storage spaces on a budget – under $50 to be precise.
Walk in wardrobe
When it comes to the walk in wardrobe, one of the largest challenges you may face when re-arranging this already busy space is how you can go about creating more room, or at least the illusion of more room without culling your already prized possessions.
Our first tip see’s Chelsea of I Heart Bargains speaking to Chris Carroll about her own walk in robe at home. Chelsea explains, using a range of fantastic storage products from IKEA – that she always ensures that everything is hung up – whether it be her clothing, accessories or shoes.
By keeping everything off the floor, not only are you creating the illusion of more space, we assure you – you are going to be a whole lot more organised!
Bathroom shelf
Most often, when it comes to styling your home, the bathroom is without a doubt one of the only rooms that is overseen – simply neglected. But why is this? While styling the bathroom does not always seem to be essential (or at least cross the mind), it is interesting to actually consider the benefits when it comes to introducing pieces to this somewhat ‘boring’ space.
Chris of TLC interiors shares our second storage tip, explaining the benefits of introducing a small yet stylish shelf into the bathroom. Perfect for tight spaces and budget friendly, Chris shares a stylish piece from Kmart, which not only provides that extra bit of storage, but also introduces warmth and interest to the otherwise bland space.
Towel rack
Who likes wet towels on the floor? No one. Chelsea, who explains a simple hack for tackling this common household issue, shares our third and final storage hack. Available at Kmart, this clever accessory is simply hung over the back of the bathroom door, allowing for at least three towels to be hung. It’s as simple as that – and so budget friendly!
