Are you in the market for a home and land package in a prime location, and want to create a positive difference in the lives of children with cancer? Metricon has recently joined forces with residential land developer Satterley, and Channel Nine’s AFL Footy Show My Room Telethon to offer an impressive double-storey home in Satterley’s Botanical community in Mickleham, Victoria. With proceeds from the no-reserve auction going to children’s cancer charity ‘My Room,’ the auction is being held on Saturday, August 4 and is set to draw big crowds to raise vital funds for the worthy cause.

The Home

The home up for auction, the Freedom by Metricon Merricks 37, has been designed with the growing family in mind. The double-storey home features four double bedrooms including a spacious private master suite with generous ensuite and his and hers walk-in-robe. A study off the entrance of the home is also a welcome feature, while a double lock up garage completes the family-orientated home design.

Designed for family living and entertaining alike, the Merricks features a large gourmet kitchen with designer cabinetry and a premium walk-in butler’s pantry. With flexibility at the forefront of the design, a spacious light-filled open plan living zone seamlessly integrates the indoors and outdoors and ensures an abundance of light and space.

The successful bidder will enjoy the displayed level fixture and fittings plus the ability to customise and tailor the design to suit their specific requirements.

The Location

The Merricks will be built in one of Melbourne’s most coveted communities – The ‘Botanical’ in Mickleham, Victoria. Sitting in a prime location on a 590sqm block of land, the home also provides an excellent investment opportunity, with Mickleham having recently been listed as the number one building hotspot in Australia by the Housing Industry of Australia (HIA).

“The lucky bidders of this premium quality house and land package are not only helping improve the lives of children with cancer, but they’ll also be making a sound investment for their future in this beautiful community” says Satterley founder and CEO Nigel Satterley.

The Cause

The initiative, fittingly named ‘My Home’ will see all proceeds raised from the no-reserve auction go to Children’s Cancer Charity My Room. Dedicated to achieving a 100 per cent cure rate for childhood cancers, My Room has been raising funds for childhood cancer research, clinical care, and family support for more than 25 years – raising more than $17 million.

My Room Children’s Cancer Charity Chairman, Maurizio Marcocci said “Last year The AFL Footy Show’s My Room Telethon on Nine raised more than $1 million to continue our mission of research and care for children who are diagnosed with cancer every year. This year, with the wonderful support of Metricon and Satterley we hope to see this figure grow significantly, to help us meet our ultimate goal to get to the point where the hope of a cure can be given to every parent and child, newly diagnosed with cancer”
