Now that the year has almost come to an end, what better time than to reflect on the year that was – 2017. For Metricon, this year has been a busy one, with a number of interactive events held in Studio M, to an exciting array of awards won and competitions ran.

Let’s reflect on some of the highlights of each month:

Kicking off the year, Metricon collaborated with Snooze Australia to shoot three on trend bedroom interiors – perfectly suited for adults, tweens and kids. Metricon’s Senior Interior Designer Jacinta Evans joined Mel Brady for Snooze as they styled the three bedrooms and spoke to how the looks can be achieved.

Metricon’s Doulton on display in Burwood East VIC, was the perfect set for Lunar New Year Celebrations in February. MasterChef winner and the host of Destination Flavour Adam Liaw was in attendance, cooking up a storm in the impressive kitchen and delighting guests with an interactive demonstration. More about the event can be read here.

February also saw the launch of Metricon’s Virtual Experience to the mass market. With this exciting new offering, prospective home owners could take home their very own FREE VR headsets from Metricon displays, allowing them to immerse themselves in more than 80 of Metricon’s stunning designs – no matter where they are.

March was all about interiors, with Metricon’s ‘California Dreaming’ interiors style making its debut as part of Metricon’s online Lookbook. Drawing inspiration from the oasis backdrop of California, the essence of the California Dreaming style stems from the creation of calming coastal spaces, echoing the casual elegance of summer living.

Easter time was well and truly on the cards for Metricon in April, with a gorgeous Easter shoot held at the Glendale in Keysborough, VIC. Off the back of the shoot, an exciting Easter giveaway was run on Social Media, whereby entrants had a chance to win the goodies as featured in the shoot.

During this eventful month, a second interior theme was launched for 2017 to Metricon’s LookbookEmpire. This opulent interior style is heavily characterised by Asian influences all the while styled in a relaxed modern Australian setting.

Mothers are also never forgotten here at Metricon, with an exciting Mother’s Day table styling Mastercass held in Melbourne’s Studio M during this month. Hosted by Chris Carroll of TLC Interiors, guests got all the tips and hints for creating the perfect mother’s day table setting.

Creativity and colour were the highlights for June, with an inspiring Colour Masterclass held in Studio M. This exciting event, held in Collaboration with Dulux Australia, saw Lucy Feagins of The Design FIles present her top colour trends for the month to a crowd of enthusiastic guests.

Metricon loves to celebrate all people and cultures across the world, and what better way than to celebrate ‘Bastille Day 2017’ – in true Parisian style at their French Baroque inspired La Pyrenee show home in Balwyn East, VIC. The morning saw a small group of bloggers and media hosted for a French inspired breakfast comprising an array of delicious pastries and champagne.

During this month, Metricon were excited to host The Cooks Pantry crew at the Sovereign on display in Glen Waverley VIC. This special shoot, one of four hosted by Metricon - was part of an exciting new TV series which aired on Channel 10 in September. This segment saw 2016 Masterchef favourite Courtney Roulston cook up a storm with Metricon Residential Home designer Vanessa Barisic.

Metricon’s Lookbook was once again updated in 2017, with September seeing the launch of Metricon’s 21st Lookbook theme - ‘Modernism.’ Styled at Metricon’s Botanica on display in Fyansford VIC, this new interior scheme showcases key concepts, including ‘form follows function’ and ‘truth to materials’.
September also saw Metricon take home the title of Australia’s Number One Home Builder in the Housing Industry Association Housing Top 100 Report 2017 – the second year in a row.

As the year begun to wind up – what better time than to throw a little more colour and excitement into the mix. In October, Metricon once again collaborated with Dulux Australia – this time for an inspiring Colour Trends Masterclass hosted by Emily Osmond of getinmyhome. Guests enjoyed getting the inside scoop on what’s hot in colour trends for 2018, presented by Andrea Lucena Orr and Bree Leech of Dulux.

The festive season was well and truly upon us in November – with yet again another Masterclass held in Metricon’s Studio M for all to enjoy. Hosted by Chris Carroll of TLC Interiors, guests had a lot of fun creating their very own Christmas bonbons while enjoying delicious festive treats cooked up by ex MasterChef contestant and star of The Cook’s Pantry - Michael Weldon.

Wrapping up 2017 in true festive style, Metricon collaborated with their friends at Salt&Pepper for a fun filled 12 days of Christmas giveaway. The competition, which ran on Metricon’s Instagram channel (@metriconhomes), called for followers and visitors alike to answer a daily 12 words or less question for their chance to win a fabulous Salt&Pepper prize pack.
