Metricon & Satterley join forces for a Charity Home Auction to give Childhood Cancer the Boot

Metricon & Satterley have partnered with Channel Nine’s Footy Show My Room Telethon to offer an incredible 4-bedroom two-storey home, in Satterley’s Botanical community in Mickleham, in a no reserve auction, on Saturday 4 August, with proceeds going to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.

The Metricon double storey Merricks 37 home will be built in a prime position in the Botanical community, directly over the road from a planned park, and walking distance to a planned local shopping village. The house and land package will sell at a no reserve auction on Saturday 4 August, which means it can sell for any price.
Metricon CEO Mario Biasin said that they’re excited to see just how many bidders come along to the auction to raise vital funds to help change the lives of children with cancer.

“Building homes is what we do best, but at Metricon we believe it’s also important to build, vibrant local communities. We have a strong commitment towards supporting children and giving back to the local community and by collaborating with Satterley and The Footy Show’s My Room Telethon, we are able to offer a home in a fantastic location that will help the more than 900 Australian children diagnosed with Cancer every year.

“Our goal was to offer a home that would impress the market and draw a really great result on auction day. The spectacular Merricks 37 will sit on a 508sqm block of land and features four substantial bedrooms and ample entertaining areas complemented by the luxury of a private study at the front of the home, a formal sitting room and huge upstairs leisure room.

The Satterley family has been donating land for charity auctions in Western Australia since 1974. This will be Satterley’s 40th charity home in Australia and it’s first in Victoria partnering with My Room and Metricon.

My Room Children’s Cancer Charity Chairman, Maurizio Marcocci said, “My Room is a volunteer organisation dedicated to raising funds to achieve a 100 per cent cure rate for childhood cancers. Over the past 25 years, My Room has raised more than $17 million for childhood cancer research, clinical care, family support, and to improve the quality of life for patients.

“Last year The Footy Show’s My Room Telethon on Nine raised more than $1 million to continue our mission of research and care for children who are diagnosed with cancer every year. This year, with the wonderful support of Metricon & Satterley we hope to see this figure grow significantly, to help us meet our ultimate goal to get to the point where the hope of a cure can be given to every parent and child, newly diagnosed with cancer,” said Maurizio.
