Metricon,Victoria’s leading homebuilder, announced its contribution towards the Tsunami Appeal at a special staff presentation with Reverend Tim Costello, Chief Executive of World Vision, in attendance. Metricon presented Reverend Costello with a cheque in excess of $179,000 to World Vision’s appeal.

Under the deal, in return for their sponsorship of the Bulleen-Templestowe Boomers, Metricon becomes the key sponsor of its basketball teams. Metricon’s General Manager of Marketing, Darren Mehl, said that the agreement is a great reflection of Metricon’s commitment to community involvement.

Very Special Kids is a not-for-profit organisation that assists every member of the family providing counselling, support services and care for the child at Very Special Kids House - Australia’s first children’s hospice offering respite and end-of-life care.

Our Queensland team got together recently to support “THINK PINK DAY” in support of the Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices Program. With nearly everyone knowing someone directly affected by breast cancer in their life, Think Pink Day provides a great way for the local community to support a vital community service.

Metricon undertook two key initiatives at Christmas, using funds generously donated by the Metricon team. In 2005, Metricon raised more than $6,500 at the company’s annual, staff Gala night auction which was used to purchase gifts for Gordon Care children.
