Khadijeh El-Masri knew there were 30,000 good reasons for her to visit this year’s HIA Sydney Home Show at Darling Harbour. At the Metricon stand, Khadijeh filled in the $30,000 Home Makeover entry form and then crossed her fingers.

When hers was the winning entry pulled from the box on Wednesday 8 June, Khadijeh couldn’t believe her good fortune. “Oh my gosh, I’m so happy!” were her first words when Regina Barnes, sales and marketing manager of Metricon Homes, gave her the good news.

“This never happens to me!” said a delighted Khadijeh.

Well it did, and for Khadijeh and her partner it couldn’t have come at a better time. The couple is living in a granny flat in South Granville while saving hard for a new home – a Metricon home we hope. They are also looking to start a family. For them the prize could not have come at a better time.

“We really needed this right now,” said Khadijeh.

Metricon assembled the $30,031 prize pool containing an outstanding array of decor and renovation products from some of their major suppliers. The prizes Khadijeh won include:

• $2000 worth of blinds and curtains
• Video intercom, security and entrance doors valued at $6000
• Paint, tile, carpet and new bathroom fittings ranging from $985 to $3000 each up to $10,000 in total value
• Pavers and electrical products worth up to $2700
• Outdoor decking and garden products valued at $2450
• Insulation to the value of $2000.
