The Housing Industry Association has given Metricon, two reasons to celebrate this week, honouring Australia’s leading home builder, with two awards at the 2010 HIA CSR Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards. The Santorini won the title of Best Display Home in the $200,000-$300,000 category and Metricon also received the prestigious Marketing award for the launch of StudioM.com.au.
The Riva was the runner-up in the Best Display Home $400,000-$500,000 section, rounding off a successful night at the awards, the pinnacle of achievement in Victoria’s residential building industry.
Judged by industry professionals, the HIA awards acknowledge the talent of designers, builders and building companies who plan and construct quality new housing and apartments and renovations and outdoor projects.
Metricon’s General Manager of Marketing – Yvonne Abood, said to be acknowledged by the industry with these two awards was a thrill and a credit to the Metricon team.
"The Santorini is consistently one of Metricon’s most popular designs with bold lines, luxurious fixtures and fittings including a very convenient butler’s pantry.
"At Metricon, we have a proud history of creating innovative, quality homes for a wide range of home buyers. We are committed to designing homes that offer sophisticated features, open plan spaces and the ultimate in indoor outdoor living for the Australian family. The Santorini is a great example of this.
The Marketing award is also a fitting testament to our history of innovation. Right throughout our business, the challenge to innovate and improve is at the forefront of our minds and our business activity. Nowhere is this more true than in our marketing and the launch of the innovative studio.com.au, the ultimate resource for home & interior decorating ideas, with how-to videos, articles, advice and more.
The creation of Studiom.com.au was all about enhancing our customers’ experience. Building on the success of Studio m, our industry leading selection centres across Australia, we recognised customers’ desire to be armed with as much information as possible when completing this aspect of the home building process.
Not only were our customers after tips and advice on the best products and upcoming trends in design, but they also wanted the opportunity to "visualise" what their new home could look like before they locked it in at their colour and material selection appointment. Studiom.com.au is a portal for our designers to connect with the public regarding new products, styling and design tips; but it is also an opportunity for customers to lend their own hand to interior decorating and design using the Envisage customisation tool," Yvonne concluded.
