People are increasingly looking for indoor/outdoor living options as a standard feature in their home. As the cooler months are closing in – now is a good time to consider ways to maintain a comfortable temperature when entertaining outdoors.
Metricon’s NSW Sales and Marketing Manager – Regina Barnes suggests all Metricon homes have been designed with the modern Australian family in mind. Our contemporary designs include a covered outdoor room that is perfect for an informal entertaining area and can be enjoyed by the whole family at any time of the year.
“When building your dream home, it is not only important to consider incorporating a roof over the outdoor section of your home, but design your outdoor room so that it is located at the side or rear of the home and can be easily accessed via sliding or bi-fold doors. This allows you to use the outdoor room as an extension of the entertaining areas inside your home.
The obvious is also to add a heater to your outdoor room, such as a chiminea or gas patio heater, so that you can entertain with family and friends on cooler days.
On the contrary, remember to also include a fan in your outdoor room so that you can comfortably enjoy a BBQ or read the paper during those balmy summer nights and warm, sunny days. Many Metricon customers opt to have a ceiling fan built in for that added comfort.
An outdoor room is an excellent space to have a dinner party with friends so you may like to place a dining table in that area. An outdoor room can also be used as a nice, quiet area to read the paper or sit and relax with family on some comfortable cane lounges. You want this space to be inviting so it tempts the family to utilise it all year round,” concluded Regina.
