Metricon are pleased to announce that they will be continuing as Major Partner of Very Special Kids’ for the 2009 Piggy Bank Appeal. This is the second year Metricon has been affiliated with the charity.

Metricon’s General Manager of Marketing, Darren Mehl, said Metricon is delighted to be associated with a not-for-profit organisation that assists children and families in need.

Very Special Kids is a unique organisation that supports families throughout their experience of caring for children with life-threatening illnesses, from diagnosis through to recovery or bereavement.

"With only 20% government funding, Very Special Kids wouldn’t exist without corporate sponsorship and the generous support of the community to carry out its services,” suggested Darren.

Very Special Kids’ Chief Executive Officer, David Agnew, said that the Very Special Kids team is thrilled to welcome Metricon as a Major Partner of the Piggy Bank Appeal and looks forward to building a strong, long-term affiliation with the company.

Last year Metricon built a ‘Very Special Home’ in Shepparton that was auctioned with all proceeds going to Very Special Kids. This initiative coupled with many internal staff fundraisers, saw Victoria’s leading home builder donate an impressive $75,000.

“This year we are going all out hoping to top the magical $100,000 figure. In order to do this we have decided to build three homes to be sold for Very Special Kids. These will be located in Traralgon, Ballarat and Wodonga and will be a selection of some of our favourite designs – the Delta, Kalarney and the popular Santorini,” concluded Darren.
