Earlier this year, Metricon proudly announced becoming a major partner of the Very Special Kids 2008 Piggy Bank Appeal. As part of this partnership Metricon, Victoria’s leading home builder, built one of it favourite designs - the Tusanne, to be sold with all profits going back to Very Special Kids.

Saturday 4th October Metricon hosted the Auction at The Groves Estate in Kialla. Although the crowd turnout was high – the home did not sell.

Darren Mehl – General Manager of Marketing suggested, “It was a little disappointing the home did not sell at Auction. However we are pleased to announce the home has been sold privately to an excited new home buyer.”

All profits are donated to Very Special Kids, which totals a donation in the sum of $76,500. We have accumulated these funds through a host of initiatives such as casual Fridays around the workplace, Family Fun days at our display homes, numerous staff fundraising events and of course the crescendo of the Very Special Home Auction.

The amount of support we have received from the Shepparton Community has been outstanding. Everyone from the local government, suppliers, Kevin Hicks real estate to the Mooroopna Rotary club have all put their hands up to help support this charity which is really touching. We now look forward to continuing our partnership with Very Special Kids in 2009,” concluded Mr. Mehl.
